Adnabod ti - Maddy Elliott
To celebrate Dydd Miwsig Cymru 2025, here is a new single from Maddy Elliott which follows the great success of her first single, 'Torri Fi' which was released in September last year.
The style of this song shows an independent rock influence, full of chiming guitars. Supporting them are bass and drums that drive the rhythm decisively, and consistently.
Starting darkly the song grows to a powerful dramatic climax, when Maddy's voice is very similar to Kate Bush in her prime. Then the atmosphere changes suddenly with the drums almost disappearing and the instruments echoing the improvised lines of the voice. That leads to a powerful finale with the drums rejoining and beautiful harmonies repeating the feelings of uncertainty that are the subject of 'Adnabod ti' (Knowing you).
